Stephen Sherman served as an officer with 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) in Vietnam from 1967-1968, is actively engaged in the Special Forces Association and the Special Operations Association and also maintains web sites at www.Viet-Myths.net and www.specialforcesbooks.com . The Boston Phoenix once described an Op-Ed piece in The Wall Street Journal by Mr. Sherman as "a vile attack . . . [by] a Vietnam veteran who still has not gotten over his hatred of Jane Fonda and the anti-war movement."
William Laurie served as an Army intelligence and liaison officer, MACV J-2, Vietnam, 1971-72 and as a civilian intelligence and liaison officer who, at one time or another was in 18 Vietnamese provinces with the Defense Attache Office, Vietnam, 1973-75. He speaks and reads Vietnamese, is an independent scholar and book reviewer on the history of the Vietnam War, and co-authored an annotated bibliography of Vietnam War fiction and Whitewash/Blackwash -- Myths of the Vietnam War. He holds degrees in political science and economics from Arizona State University.
James D. McLeroy served as a Special Forces officer, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), I Corps, Vietnam, 1967 and SOG officer, FOB 4, I Corps, 1968. He is a retired international banker. He holds a masters degree in history from University of Texas at Austin and is an independent scholar on the history of the Vietnam War.
